It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Richard Keith Gann on October 30, 2025. Richard was born in Portsmouth, Virginia on December 6, 1954. He resided in Palm Harbor, Florida but was a long-time resident of Douglasville, Georgia. He was the son of the late J.L. Gann and the late Robbie Womack Gann. Richard was the most loving of people and special to all who knew him.
Richard retired from the Kroger Company in Douglasville after 22 years and relocated to Florida. He was an avid athlete, playing softball, basketball, bocce, bowling, and golf. He attended the ARC of Tampa Bay ADT program up until his death.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother: Barry Scott Gann and his sister: Nicole Gann Ivey.
Survived by his sisters; Rebecca Brown-Soldano of Suffolk, Virginia, Toni Cole of Douglasville, Georgia and Pamela Thompson of Palm Harbor, Florida.
Richard valued spending time with his friends, including Ms. Joyce Tilson of Douglasville, Georgia. He adored his three nieces and six nephews.
The family will receive friends at Hightower's Memorial Chapel on Thursday, November 6, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
