Richard W. Garlock

Richard W. Garlock, age 91 of Jackson Township, passed away Saturday, January 3, 2026.
He was born May 12, 1934, in Salem, Ohio, and was the son of loving parents, Ivan and Mabel (Culler) Garlock.
Richard retired from the family businesses in 1995. He was instrumental in establishing the companies: Avalon Foods of Canal Fulton, Avalon RV, Avalon Leasing, Garlock Insurance, and the investment company of Garlock Holdings.
These companies gave him and his wife the benefit to travel extensively to over 100 countries and have had second homes in the Virgin Islands, St. Thomas, Maui, HI, and Switzerland near Geneva. He's now made his final journey to Heaven.
Richard is survived by his wife of 73 years, Betty (Hannay) Garlock; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Karen Garlock of Jackson, WY; grandson, Jacob Garlock of Canton; Aunt and Uncle, Cara Stanley and Jim Stanley and their daughter, Lysette Stanley all of Kent, Ohio; cousins, Patty Dowdell, Ronald and Kathy Culler of Carrollton, Ohio.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Robert Garlock who passed away in 2007, Tim Garlock who passed away in 2024; daughter-in-law, Lori (Raines) Garlock who passed away in 2017; brother-in-law, Ted Hannay and nephew, Chase Hannay whom passed away in 2024.
His final place of rest will be Sunset Hills Burial Park in Canton.
