Richard Carver Gleason of Groton, MA, known affectionately as Dick, passed away peacefully in Nashua, New Hampshire, on October 11, 2024 at the age of 74. He was born on January 26, 1950, in Newton, Massachusetts as the cherished son of Priscilla (Jean) Gleason and Richard Gleason, both of whom have predeceased him.

Dick was the loving soulmate of his wife, Elaine Gleason, with whom he shared 39 wonderful years. He was a devoted brother to Sally (Gleason) Potts and David (Ben) Gleason. In heaven he has joined his parents, late siblings, Beth and Bob Gleason, and loving parents-in-law, Pia and Umberto Centofante. He is survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law: Larry Potts, Diane & Nick Kefalas, John and Susan Centofanti, and Linda & Tom Sullivan. He was a beloved uncle to ten nieces and nephews and three grandnieces, and he will be missed by many cousins and friends whose lives he touched.

Dick proudly graduated from Boston University with a Doctorate in Education. He was dedicated to the field of organizational and workplace improvements in addition to the field of education through teaching and volunteering.

Dick was a kind man, known for his infectious humor, mischievous spirit, and deep love for music, particularly the guitar. He cherished the mountains of Stowe, Vermont, and held fond memories of his childhood home in Gray Gables, Massachusetts, as well as his home in Littleton, Massachusetts. Above all, Dick was characterized by his profound love and concern for others, always putting the needs of those around him in the forefront of his mind.

A celebration of Dick's life will be held on Tuesday, October 22, at the Badger Funeral Home in Littleton, Massachusetts, from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM, followed by a funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Breakthrough T1D (formerly known as the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) or to the Alzheimer’s Association, honoring Dick's legacy of caring for others.
