Richard “Ric” Allan Haley, a beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025, in Montgomery, Alabama, at the age of 72. Born on May 30, 1953, in Santa Rosa, California, Richard lived a life filled with passion and dedication to the things he loved.
He was an avid reader whose insatiable curiosity led him to explore a myriad of genres. His love for stories extended beyond the pages of books, as he savored his favorite television shows with enthusiasm. Music was another significant aspect of Richard's life; he had an extensive music collection and enjoyed playing records, creating an atmosphere of joy and nostalgia that resonated with family and friends alike.
Ric cherished his family, leaving behind his devoted wife of 47 years, Eva Phillips Haley. He is also survived by their son David Haley. his wife Kelly. His daughter Ebony Price. His sisters Nanci Miller her former husband Ron Miller, and Lori Schaeffer and her husband Forrest. His legacy continues through his grandson Cosmo Haley, as well as several nieces, nephews and grand-nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Donald E. and Shirley M. Haley, who he held close in his heart throughout his life.
At this time, there are no services scheduled, reflecting Richard's preference for a quiet farewell. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, leaving behind a legacy of love for literature, music, and the cherished memories of family.
