Richard L. Hardy, 79, of Pataskala, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 3, 1946, to the late Leonard and Francis (Anderson) Hardy.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Richard T. Hardy, and siblings Joann Simms, Russell Hardy, Michael Hardy, and Floyd Hardy.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Laura (Revercomb) Hardy; children Steven (Tabitha) Hardy, John (Heidi) Torr, Marcus Torr, Nicole Torr, and Jennifer (Rick) Beatty; and siblings Jean Rogers, Carol Townsend, Linda Robson, John (Linda) Hardy, Joyce (Ron) Turner, and Judy Williams. Richard was a proud grandpa to 13 grandchildren, a cherished “Papa” to 15 great-grandchildren, and a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Richard enjoyed attending antique car shows, spending time fishing, and collecting “unique treasures” from nearby Goodwill and yard sales. Above all, Richard’s greatest pride and happiness came from his family. He loved them deeply and unconditionally, always putting others before himself. His selflessness, kindness, and willingness to help anyone in need defined who he was.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but his warmth, gentle humor, generous heart, and kind spirit will live on through the many lives he touched.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00–4:00 P.M. November 16,2025 at the Heath Eagles, 1007 Hollander Street, Newark, Ohio.
