Richard “Sonny” Alan Harless, age 89, of Jackson, Ohio, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, March 28, 2026, following a brief illness.
Sonny was born on June 16, 1936, in Jackson, Ohio, to the late Chester Harless and Blanche (Hall) Harless. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Chet, Jimmy, and Gloria; his son, Richard Alan Harless; and an infant son, Scott Anthony Harless.
He is survived by his loving wife, Shelba Jean (Crabtree) Harless, of Jackson, Ohio; his cherished granddaughters; along with extended family and dear friends.
Sonny retired from GTE after many years of dedicated service. He was a passionate lifelong fan of the Cleveland Browns and the Ohio State Buckeyes, rarely missing an opportunity to cheer on his teams. Known for his quiet strength, loyalty, and steady presence, Sonny will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
