Richard S. Harry, 69, loving husband, father and grandfather, entered into eternal rest at his home, surrounded by his family, on Monday, July 28, 2025.

Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Richard L. Harry and Myrtle (Shearer) Harry.

He was married to Gini (Ressler) Harry on October 14, 1978, and they would have celebrated their 47th anniversary this fall.

Rich attended Conestoga Valley Schools, Manheim Central and graduated from Ephrata High School. Rich graduated from Reppert Auction School in Indiana in 1988. He owned and operated Harry's Auction in the 1980's and Harry's Used Furniture for the past 36 years. He started Harry's Toy Auction in 1988, which still continues today. But his favorite job was being a grandpa.

He has attended Calvary Church since 2005. He was a member of the Pine Ridge Hunting Camp and also volunteered many times with the Make A Wish Foundation auctioneering at the Mother's Day convoy.

Rich loved collecting old toys, planting hydrangeas and hostas in his gardens, eating plenty of sweets, playing pranks on people, telling stories and loved talking to the customers at the furniture store but most of all he loved playing in the dirt with his granddaughter, Blair.

In addition to his wife, Rich is survived by a daughter, Janelle, wife of Brad Bender; a granddaughter, Blair Bender; three sisters, Donna, wife of Fred Massar, Diane, wife of Dennis LaMonica, Debi Crouse and a brother, Ed Hopes.

In addition to his parents, Rich was preceded in death by a brother, Dale Harry and sister, Nancy Harry.

A viewing will be held on Monday, August 4, 2025, from 5 to 8 PM, at Calvary Church, 1051 Landis Valley Road, Lancaster. An additional viewing will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, from 9:30 to 11 AM, at the church, followed by his funeral service at 11 AM, with Jonathan Yoder officiating.

Memorial Contributions can be made in Rich's memory to Ladies Auxiliary of Bareville Fire Co., 211 E. Main Street Leola, PA 17540.

Arrangements by Stradling Funeral Homes, Inc., Akron/Ephrata.
