Richard Mark Herget

Richard Mark Herget, 92, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Needham on Sunday, December 14, 2025. He was the husband of the late Mary Domenica (Rullo) Herget. He was born in Boston, son of the late Joseph and Mary (Gillooly) Herget. He was raised in Mattapan and was a graduate of Boston Technical High School. Richard then served in the U.S. Navy and was a Veteran of the Korean War. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Radioman Petty Officer 2nd Class. He resided in Readville for 14 years and Dedham for 20 years before spending over 30 years in Stoughton. Richard was an inside salesman at Matt J. McDonald Company in South Boston for 20 years before retiring many years ago. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Quincy. He loved gardening and spending summers in Marion but his greatest joy was spending time with his family.

Richard is survived by his children, Mark A. Herget and his wife Jody of Manchester, NH, RoseAnn Pasqualone and her husband Domenic of Phoenix, AZ, Richard M. Herget Jr. and his wife Denise of Londonderry, NH, Laura M. Prudden and her husband David of Taunton, Patricia M. Overko and her husband David of Stoughton and Mary T. Zimmerman and her husband Shawn of Manchester, NH. He was the brother of the late Joseph Herget, Aileen DeCola, Patricia Davis and Margaret Citrone. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting Hours will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Sunday, December 21 from 2-5 PM. Funeral will take place from the funeral home on Monday, December 22 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
