Dr. Mary Christine Herget, a resident of Clinton, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 30, 2025. She was a retired teacher, having taught at Silliman Institute, Albany, Bethany and LSU. Visitation will be at Feliciana Baptist Church in Clinton on Friday, Nov. 14, 2025 from 9am until service at 12pm. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery, Baton Rouge. She is survived by her son, Christian David Prescott Herget, grandchildren, Emilie Ann Herget and Christian John Herget. A great grandson, Randall "Rue" Guidry. Her best friend, Dr. Gene Thompson. She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Taylor Prescott Herget and Thelma Parker Herget. Mary was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was a talented musician and beloved music teacher. Mary lit up a room when she walked in. To know Mary was to love her. She will be dearly missed.
Her former piano students are invited to play a music selection of their choosing, during the visitation.
Memorial donations may be made to defray funeral expenses.
