Richard Lee "Rick" Hill, 58, passed away on March 16, 2025, in Des Moines, IA.
Rick was born on June 26, 1966 in Des Moines, IA. He married Linda in 1991 in Wisconsin and then floated down Apple River. They spent 35 years together. his youth, Rick loved to riding his motorcycle. Rick enjoyed watching cowboy movies and he loved to BBQ ribs and chicken (every day if he could.) Although he gave Linda a hard time he enjoyed her flowers.
Rick's family has fond memories: his brother remembers playing basketball with him, his brother and nephew started racing stock cars and they always knew Rick would be there to supervise, his sister, Vicky remembers their paper route together; his sister, Deb remembers going roller skating and both of them learning how to two step backwards on the skates. Rick got pretty good at it and even got his brother, Danny into skating.
Rick is survived by his loving wife, Linda; sisters, Victoria Kaufman and Deb Hill; brothers, Danny and David Hill; step-sons, Kenny (Leigh) Custard and Bobby Custard; and step-sister, Renee McAbee; nephews, Dustin Hillis, Danny Hill Jr., Dakota Showman, Brad Killen, Bentley Hill and his niece, Brittany Killen; aunt Joanna Wingfield; uncles, Phil (Charlotte) Kaufman and Ben (Sherie) Kaufman and his in-laws, Sandy (Tom) Jones, Barb (Bob) Blackford, Vance (Chris) Fischer and Tim Overton. He is preceded in death by his father, Rich Hill Sr. and mother, Miriam Childs; father-in-law, Herman Fischer; uncles, Tim and David Kaufman and aunt Eunice Kaufman and sister-in-law, Clesta Overton.
