Richard Huggins Jr.

Sumter, SC.... Richard Huggins, Jr., age 74, beloved husband of 50 years to the late Andra Paula Truesdale Huggins, Died on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at Prisma Health Tuomey.
Born in Sumter, SC, he was the son of the late Richard Huggins and Annie L. Wilkie Huggins. Richard was the founder and former owner of Best Trucking Co. He was a very kind and generous man that was always helping others in any way that he could. He was an avid poker player and competed in many tournaments throughout the country. He enjoyed fishing as well as traveling with his wife in their camper. Richard loved his family and friends, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He leaves behind 4 children, daughters Kathy Galloway (Bruce), Tracy Morgan (Lee), sons Rick Huggins, and Chis Huggins (Tysha) and a special grandson who he helped raise and was more like a son Dalton Huggins all of Sumter. 11 other grandchildren Todd Herlong, Jr. (Caitlin), Brandon Herlong, Christian Murphy (Jeffrey), Brittany Moore (Brandon), Savannah Morgan (Austin), Gabriel Christmas, Tyler Ryles (Catherine), CJ Huggins, Cole Huggins, Lexus Harris, Domonique Coleman; 14 great grandchildren; a special niece, Sherry Jacks; numerous close cousins and friends, and a special friend, Linda Poole.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Vernon Huggins.
The family will receive friends at the home on Saturday, March 16, 2024, from 11:00 –3:00 pm.
