Richard Inge Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home and Crematory - Roswell on Jan. 13, 2026.
Richard Inge 69, of Roswell, NM., peacefully passed January 7, 2026., Surrounded by loved ones.

Richard was the first born of Richard and Dolores Inge. He was preceded in death by his parents and survived by his husband, Charles White, siblings, and extended family.

Richard was educated in Cincinnati, OH., Southfield, MI., Grapevine, TC., Santa Fe, and ABQ., NM.

Richard learned to play the accordion at a young age and later played the piano, and guitar. He also dabbled with other instruments. He performed at countless events, playing requests (especially polkas for his aunts), too church events, too Posadas at Christmas and the beloved family tradition of Dia de San Luis.

Richard met the love of his life, Charles, 44 years ago. They were happily married in Santa Fe in 2014, and have resided in Roswell since 2006. They enjoyed traveling and visiting family and friends. Many of the other hobbies include gardening, koi ponds, beading, and any other adventures they could find to enjoy together.

Richard shared the love of trains with his father, spending countless hours developing train layouts, attending train shows and hobby shopping.

After retirement from the State of NM., he joined the hobby of quilting with Charles. He started a successful long-arm-quilting business, completing hundreds of quilts and making numerous new friends in the quilting community.

Richard's strength, determination, and love for his family and friends define him. He was a confidant, a source of wisdom and a steady, comforting foundation of love and guidance.

He is remembered for his care and gentleness which he lived all his life.

Being a part of his life was a blessing and his memory treasured. He is loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure.

Rest in everlasting peace.

It seems funny to call Ricardo, Richard.
The first time I met Richard was when my parents and aunt drove from Delaware to Albuquerque, New Mexico. I was 10 or 11 years old.
I remembered Ricardo most of all because I was shy and he took me under his wings and made me feel at home.
I thought he must have been magical when he got out his accordion and played music.
When everyone was playing I clung to my mother´s side till Ricardo came to get me to play with the others.
I saw him again at my sister´s house playing volleyball. I was amazed at how tall and handsome he was.
Years later, I was taking care of my sister when she was struck with Alzheimer´s. Thank goodness she still remembered him. We talked once a week. Ricardo and his sister Elena came to visit. What a wonderful treat that was.
It´s been a blessing getting to know them all over again.
They had not seen our beach before so a friend and I got to take them to Rehobeth, De. It was chilly but they loved it.
I had surgery and Ricardo and his quilting ladies made me a beautiful throw to keep me warm.
He was one of the most thoughtful and loving people I have known. I´m so blessed we were cousins.
I wish we could have had more time together.
I will always love you and will always miss our phone calls.
You may have been our angel on earth but I´m sure you´re an angle in heaven.
I love you cousin.

Richard, you were like a big brother to me when I went to the seminary in Cincinnati. As a frightened, homesick 13 yr old boy, you helped me settle in. I wish we would have kept in touch. What a beautiful man, inside and out. Rest peacefully
