Augusta, GA – Richard Allen Ingram, Sr, aged 89, passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2024. He was a beloved husband, father, and friend that will be deeply missed.

Richard was born on December 22, 1934, in Augusta, GA, where he spent his formative years. He joined the Navy and was stationed in Oakland, CA. After being injured he was honorably discharged and returned to Augusta and met the love of his life, Esther. 

Richard started his own company, Richard Ingram Masonry Contractor. He retired in 2020 after 50 plus years in business. Throughout his career, he was known for his hard work and dedication to his employees. But more than anything, Richard was a devoted husband and father. He loved spending time with his family. He was always there to offer guidance, support, and encouragement. In his free time, Richard enjoyed playing golf with his friends. He was a member of Warren Baptist Church.

Richard is survived by his loving wife of 67 years: Esther; son and daughter-in-law: Richard and Amy; grandchildren: Ricky and Jaclyn and Jared and Olivia, great granddaughter: Ellie. Extended family includes many nieces and nephews and devoted employee, Willie Smith. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s’s Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
