Richard “Dick” Alva Jackson, 90, of Ashland, died November 1, 2023 surrounded by his family in Crestline, Ohio.
Friends may call Monday from 11 to 12 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Ashland Chapel, Ashland. Funeral services will follow at 12 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Ashland County Memorial Park, where military rites will be held. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com. Richard was born June 11, 1933 in Clarington, Ohio to Lawrence and Bertha {Carpenter} Jackson.
He proudly served in the US Army Medical Unit during the Korean War and in Germany.
He married Virginia Marie Granneman on December 27, 1955.
He worked at the former Faultless Rubber Co. in Ashland until retirement. Richard enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, gardening and going to Lyn-Way for Brunch.
Richard will be deeply missed by his daughter Patricia (Scott) Matthes; grandchildren Jessica Jackson, Melissa Plummer and Jennifer Whyel; great-grandchildren Noah, Harlee, Dakota, Gracie and Richard and his special friend of 7 years Ruth Howell.
Richard was preceded in death by his wife of 52 and a half years Virginia, his mother, father and 10 siblings.
