Richard Jackson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rivertown Funeral Chapel (Ramsay FH Group) on Mar. 29, 2026.
Richard Louis Jackson, 91, of Chesaning, Michigan, was joyfully welcomed into the arms of Jesus on March 28, 2026 at the Cedars in Leo, Indiana. He was born on April 20, 1934, to Louis and Maude Jackson, Richard lived a life rooted in faith, family, and love for God's creation. He attended Chesaning high school and was a Jack of all trades prior to serving in the Army in 1956.

On September 22, 1956, he married the love of his life, Jolan Kollar. Together they shared 69 beautiful years of marriage, building a strong, faith-filled family and raising five children. He was a longtime dedicated member of the Apostolic Christian Church in Bay City.

Richard found great joy in the outdoors, where he felt closest to the Lord. He loved hunting, fishing, biking, running, waterskiing, gardening, spending time in nature, and always appreciating the beauty of God's handiwork.

He was a proud and loving grandpa to 19 grandchildren and great grandpa to 31, who brought him immense joy and pride.

Richard is survived by his devoted wife, Jolan; and his children: Susan (Rick) Luginbuhl of Ellington, CT, Cindy (Lowell) Schlatter of Spencerville, IN, Don (Tina) Jackson of Fort Wayne, IN, Robert (Kym) Jackson of Yorba Linda, CA and John (Peggy) Jackson of Linwood, MI.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Maude Jackson; his sister, Carol (Gary) Smith; his brother, James "Ed" Jackson; their young daughter (Erin) and his grandchild, Jared Sosa.

A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Rivertown Funeral Chapel, 209 S. Huron Rd., Kawkawlin, MI 48631

Funeral services will take place at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at Apostolic Christian Church, 2791 Fraser Rd., Kawkawlin, MI 48631, with visitation beginning one hour prior at 10:00 AM.

Richard's life was a testament to his unwavering faith, his love for his family, and his devotion to God. While he will be deeply missed, his family rejoices in the promise that he is now at peace in the presence of his Savior.
