Richard Johnson Obituary

Richard (Rich) K. Johnson, 56, of Morrisdale, PA passed away on January 6, 2024 at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA after a brief illness. He was born in Ridgway, PA and resided most of his life in Portland Mills, PA.

Richard is survived by his daughter Casey Johnson of Johnsonburg, PA; his son Curtis Johnson of St. Marys, PA; his sister Debbie (Terry) Franke of Ranburne, AL; his brother David (Denise) Johnson of Ridgway, PA, his sister-in-law Nancy (Marty) Johnson of South Dayton, NY; several nieces and nephews and also his good friends Joan & Keith Cheskey of Morrisdale, PA. He is preceded in death by his parents Mr & Mrs Frederick & Margaret (Naomi) Johnson of Portland Mills, PA and his brother Frederick (Marty) Johnson of South Dayton, NY.

Rich was baptized at Vine United Methodist Church in Clearfield, PA where he was a member of the congregation. He loved watching sports and was an avid fan of Altoona Curve Baseball, The Pirates, The Penguins and The Steelers. Before he got sick, he enjoyed going to Journey's 50th Anniversary Concert and also being in the filming of the movie Shooting Heroin.

In keeping with his wishes, Rich has been cremated and the family will hold a memorial service at a later date.

Dear family:
I met Dick, a few days after my momma passed away,he and his friend took me to the Pittsburgh airport so I could come home, to my daughter. He was very kind to me.
