Gladys Irene Greslick

1934 - 2026

PHILIPSBURG - Gladys Irene Greslick, 91, of Philipsburg, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2026, at her residence.

Born May 17, 1934, in Gearhartville, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Jane (Jones) Shimmel.

On Jan. 15, 1955, in Winburne, she wed the love of her life, Leroy M. Greslick, Sr. who preceded her in death on April 10, 1999.

Surviving are her children, Cathy DeAngelo (Fred) of State College, Leroy "Bud" Greslick, Jr. (Joyce) of Houtzdale, James "Jim" Greslick (Beth) of Ginter, Sue Humenik of Philipsburg; her grandchildren, Michael Greslick (Ashley) of Duncansville, Danielle Parks (Terry) of Philipsburg, Casey Tidwell (Tim) of Alexandria, Ashley Jordan (Kevin) of Kissimmee, Fla., Nicole Priester (Nathan) of Glen Hope, Shannon Rowley of Janesville, Sara Brown (Andrew) of Mechanicsburg, Matthew DeAngelo (Jen) of Holly Springs, N.C., Jessica Lloyd (Jim) of State College; her great-grandchildren, Parker and Peyton Tidwell, Jeremih and Jaxon Jordan, Ryker Dotts, Elia and Kaylin Rowley, Sophia Brown, Anthony DeAngelo, Alexandra Lloyd; her sister, Mary Fetzer, Gearhartville; her brother, Robert Shimmel, Houtzdale; numerous nieces and nephews; and, with a special thank you, her caregiver, Bonnie Null.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Marvin, Donald and Ralph Shimmel; her sisters, Madeline Shimmel, Patricia Houben, Janie Rothrock, Sally Britton and an infant sister.

Gladys was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church, Hawk Run.

She was a 1952 graduate of Philipsburg High School and had worked as a baker at Riverside from which she retired. Along with her husband, Gladys was co-owner of the former Greslick's Christmas Tree Farm, Philipsburg; where many families loved and admired many trees from there. Gladys loved her family and spending quality time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2026, at Strange & Weaver Funeral Service, Morrisdale from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and again from 9-10:45 a.m., on Wednesday, at the funeral home. Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2026, at 3:30 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Sts. Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church, Hawk Run, with Father Johnathan Schmolt as celebrant.

Her final resting place will be in the church cemetery in Hawk Run.
