Richard Ronald Joly lived in Montrose, Co for over twenty years, his story began in Tampa Florida where he was born and raised. He graduated from Hillsborough High School in 1978, after graduation he moved to Dallas, Tx and attended Christ for the Nations Bible College. After living in Dallas, Tx for two years he moved to Tulsa, Ok where he enjoyed doing street ministry. He loved maps and had a heart for world missions. He would pray over the maps for the people of the world. He met and married Phyllis Martin in 1982. They had one son Joshua Michael Joly, they ended up divorcing in 1986. When he arrived in Colorado, he began work in construction and carpentry trades. He met Flor Joly through mutual friends, and they soon married. They had a son, Andre Levi Joly who was born in 1991. Over time Richard began a new career joining the ranks of the Airport firefighters where he eventually became Chief. He served faithfully for over a decade before he changed his passion and went to serve All Points Transit, which he loved above all the jobs he had. He had such great joy in serving the community and helping others in so many ways. Above all he loved the Holy Ghost and the Lord. He loved to talk for countless nights and hours about the Lord where iron sharpens iron, so he sharpened those he encountered and all the people who heard him speak. He was at his home on 2/22/25 where he drew his last breath believing in the Lord, where those who saw him said he was at complete peace. Some of his joys were music, dancing and singing. Karaoke night in Montrose may never be the same. He enjoyed camping and fishing, especially around Lake Powell.
He is survived by his sons Joshua (Anne) of Rogers, Arkansas and Andre Joly of Gaylord, Mi. and Stepdaughter Thimetis Molina of San Antonio, Tx. His grandchild Caleb, also from Rogers, Arkansas. His Parents, Andre and Marcell Joly of Florida as well as 4 sisters, Delores (David) Kruhm of Florida, Sharon (Eddy) McGuirl of Florida, Julie Davenport of Florida and Dianne (Raphael) Ortega.
