Richard “Dick� R. June Richard R. June, age 67 was called home to his heavenly father on Friday, August 12, 2011 at Seasons of Life Hospice House in Woodruff, WI. He had fought a long courageous battle with cancer. Richard was born August 4, 1944, the son of Mildred (nee Brown) and George W. June. Richard grew up in the rural Sparta, WI area. He attended rural Monroe County schools and graduated from the Sparta Senior High School in 1963. He later moved to Kenosha, WI and went to work for the Kenosha City Police Department. He married Susan Nielsen in Kenosha in 1965. They had three children, Gregory, Grant and Amber. They later divorced. Richard later married Jill Bellomy in 1988 in Kenosha. They had three children, Richie, Jerod and Joshua. Dick retired from the Kenosha Police Department in 1996 having 29 years of service. Richard and Jill moved to Minocqua, WI in 1996 where they owned and operated “The Rack� clothing store. They later opened a second store in Crandon, WI. They were later divorced. Richard was a member of the WPPA, Wisconsin Professional Police Assoc. and the KPPA, Kenosha Professional Policemen’s Assoc. He organized many fundraisers for sheriff’s and police departments throughout Wisconsin and bordering states for the JR Concert Productions. Richard enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and was forever fond of the early classic fifties music and memorabilia. Richard was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. Every game day, especially home games were celebrated as a main event with family and friends. He was known by family as having had a strong work ethic. Dick was caring and loved his family dearly, having always enjoyed attending family reunions and other related events. Richard was strong in his Christian faith and was active in the Lakeland Assembly of God Church, where he served as a Deacon. He was very open in sharing his spiritual beliefs and enjoyed his Christian fellowship. He will certainly be missed by the family he loved, his children, siblings, nephews, nieces and all friends dearest to him. Richard was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents; half-brothers, Forrest and Stanley June; brothers, Douglas, Clyde, and George Jr. June; sister, Yvonne McDonald and grandson, Brendan Sadlon. He was also predeceased by two nephews, Steven June and Billy Strong and niece, Shelley McDonald. Richard is survived by his children, Gregory (Marsha) June of Indianapolis, IN, Grant (Dee) June of Kenosha, WI, Amber (Tony) Deluisa of Kenosha, WI, Richie and Jerod June of Minocqua, WI and Joshua (fiancé Amy) Sadlon of Minocqua, WI; seven grandchildren, Nick, Kyle, Emily and Amanda June, Alex and Jasmine Deluisa and Jordan Sadlon; brother, Duane (Barbara) June of La Crosse, WI and sister, Leola (Tom) Crittenden of Kenosha, WI. Richard is further survived by his former wife and caregiver, Jill Bellomy and dear friends, Dorie and Alf Vretfors. A Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 6:00 PM on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at Lakeland Assembly of God in Woodruff, with a Funeral Service beginning at 6:00 PM at the church. Pastor Wendell Anderson will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Richard’s name to: Seasons of Life Hospice House, P.O. Box 770, Woodruff, WI 54568 or to Marshfield Clinic- Lakeland Center Oncology, 9601 Townline Road, Minocqua, WI 54548.
