STOW - Richard Patrick Kisela, 94, passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones on December 13, 2025.
Born in St. Michael, PA, to Anna and Andrew Kisela, he grew up on the farm, until he was called to service during the Korean War. He proudly served in the U. S. Army and upon discharge, went to work for Cleveland Plant and Flower Company where he worked until his retirement.
Dad was a long-time member of both Holy Family and St. Joseph Catholic Churches.
He enjoyed life’s quiet pleasures; he found joy in the pages of a good book or with a golf club in his hand or playing poker - especially if there was scotch and a good, cheap cigar nearby.
Dad was predeceased by his beloved wife, Sophia and adored son, Richard. He was also predeceased by his parents, and six adored siblings.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Mary Ann (Denny) Brazelton and loving son, Jim (Beth) Kisela; beloved sister and brother, Irene Wovrosh and John Kisela. He also leaves behind his loving grandchildren, Erin, Hayley and Marissa, and wonderful great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and friends.
We will miss his perpetual questions . . . “When you going on vacation?;” “How’s that caretaker’s cottage coming along?;” “Do you want a cup of coffee?” and “So, what’s (insert name) doing today?"
Services will be held at 7 PM, Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow, 44224. Friends may call from 5 - 7 PM, followed by a short service at the funeral home. Burial at Silver Springs Cemetery in Stow.
