Richard Benedict Koch

Richard B. Koch, known as "Dick," passed away peacefully at home in Savage, MN, formerly from Hastings, MN, on August 12, 2024, at the age of 91, surrounded by his loving family. Born on July 30, 1933, in St. Paul, MN, to Ben and Agnes (Havel) Koch, Dick graduated from St. Paul Central in 1951. He proudly served in the U.S. Army before marrying Dolores Schlosser in St. Paul in 1957. Dick spent his entire career as an engineer at 3M, and he cherished time spent with family and friends, trips to the cabin, and tinkering with anything that needed fixing.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Donna (Joe) Doran. He is survived by his devoted wife of 67 years, Dolores; his children, Mark (Pamela) Koch, Sue (Scott) Goettl, Cindy (Rod) Erickson, Terry Koch, and Ellen (Larry) Seaver; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, August 30, 2024, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 4625 W 125th St., Savage, MN. Family and friends are invited to gather beginning at 9:30 AM. A private interment will follow at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Mayo Clinic Povarello Fund, Sharing and Caring Hands or Habitat for Humanity
