Richard Paul Koegler, a longtime resident of Littleton, MA, died of natural causes at home on November 8, 2021. He was 66. Richard, who went by Rick, was a father, a boyfriend, a grandfather, a friend, and Assistant Treasurer at Kadant, Inc., where he worked for almost 30 years. Rick is survived by his three children, Alison Bihrle, Cynthia Koegler, Eric Koegler and their partners, Richard C. Bihrle, Ryan Ersland, and Hannah Attarian; his grandchildren Richard J., Genevieve, and Benjamin Bihrle and Adah Koegler; his girlfriend Patricia Sherman and her son Jamie. Rick is predeceased by his ex-wife Holly Reed, his parents, Robert and Alice Koegler, and his girlfriend's daughter, Katie Sherman. Rick was born at home in Maplewood, New Jersey on March 24, 1955. He graduated from Bucknell University in 1977 and from Wharton School of Business in 1979 with a Masters in Business Administration. Rick started his career in public accounting at Arthur Andersen, and then moved on to Cabot, Thermo Fibertek, and concluded his career at Kadant, Inc. Rick was, above all, a devoted and loving father. He loved coin collecting, astrology, delicious food, playing guitar, singing, reading classic novels in his backyard, and spending time with the people he loved. Rick will be missed for the constancy of his presence, the gentleness of his spirit, and the ferocity of his sense of self, the person he always knew himself to be. Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Rick for a period of visitation on Monday, November 15, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. in the Badger Funeral Home at 347 King Street, Littleton, MA. Rick's funeral service will be held in the funeral home immediately following the visiting hours. with love and sympathy for his family, Rick was a close friend for almost 50 years, going back to freshman year at Bucknell. His sense of humor dovetailed with mine and we always found a way to laugh about something. His kind spirit always made a positive impression. RIP, my friend.

Rick had such a great sense of humor and he was one of my favorite people to work with. One of my favorite memories of Rick was eating sushi late night while teaching him all of the new hip lingo so he could impress his son. He talked about his children and girlfriend all the time and his love for them was so beautiful. I will really miss him, but I hope to carry on his spirit in convincing my children to not go into accounting :)

My deepest heartfelt condolences on the loss of Rick. He was a model of consistency to the Kadant family with an encyclopedic knowledge of all things musical. His larger-than-life presence will be sorely missed.
