Richard Kroencke Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Pitman Funeral Homes & Cremation Services - Wentzville Chapel on Mar. 30, 2026.
With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our beloved father, Richard (Dick) H. Kroencke on March 29th, 2026. He was 86 years old.

Our father was a man of strength, hard work, and endless energy who touched many lives through the way he loved, guided, and cared for others. He was born on February 10, 1940, in Quincy, Il, and throughout his life he remained grounded in the values that meant the most to him: family, hard work, and service to others.

Throughout his life, Dick worked as an Estate Auctioneer & Real Estate professional and took pride in his work ethic. Beyond his work, he loved collecting antiques and enjoyed listening to country music. Those who knew him will remember his Unique auctioneering style and that he always loved wearing western shirts, cowboy hats & bolo ties.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 66 years, Judy; his five children Rick, Dale, Lori, Julie and Janet; his Sister Carol (Joe) Peters, Sister-in-Law Benida (Don Kroencke); 9 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren who will all carry his memory forward with love and gratitude. He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond & Cleah (Toots) Colgrove Kroencke; brother Don Kroencke; grandson Derrick William Kroencke; and great grandson Randy William Eichholz.

Though our hearts are broken, we are grateful for the time we shared with him and for the example he set through his life. We will remember his work ethic and generous heart.

He will never be forgotten, and he will always be loved.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in the name of Richard & Judy Kroencke to Yuppy Puppies Forever Rescue (where they adopted their beloved puppies). Link: https://facebook.com/YP4ever
