Wanda Kroencke

Wanda Kroencke passed peacefully on March 19th, 2023, at the age of 82. Wanda will join her beloved husband, Herbert Kroencke, daughter Diane deCavaignac, and sisters: Martha Schultz and Rida Schultz in heaven. Wanda is survived by her brothers, Richard Schultz and John Schultz, daughter Sandi Derrico, son-in-laws: Chris Derrico and Daniel deCavaignac and six grandchildren: Christopher, Ryan, Alyssa, Olivia, Lindsey, and Bennett. Wanda was born in Germany on March 10th, 1941 to August and Wanda Schultz. Even though she immigrated to the United States at the young age of 13, her German roots were an ever-present part of her, from her faithful membership of the St. Pauls German Lutheran Church to her social involvement in the German American club. She was the embodiment of the American dream, starting from humble beginnings in Queens, NY, to owning her own business with the love of her life Herbert Kroencke. After marrying, Wanda and Herbert moved to Allendale, NJ, where they raised their beautiful and successful daughters, Diane and Sandi. They then went on to own and operate the renowned Waldwick and Midland Park Delis. If Wanda had one defining characteristic, it was her love and dedication to her family. She was the type of person who always put her loved ones before herself.
Wanda was the most devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt and Oma who always ensured her loved ones were taken care of. There was nothing that could mask the pride in the family that
she built. We will remember Wanda for the way she loved and cared for everyone that entered her life. Her impact on those who knew her is immeasurable, and her spirit will live on through all the loved ones in her life. May she rest in peace.
The family will welcome friends and family on Friday, March 24th, 2023 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ 07481.
A Funeral service celebrating Wanda's life will be held on Saturday, March 25th, 2023 at 12:00PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home. The interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus NJ.
