I first met Rich along with Steve Griffin sometime in the mid 60s. Rich played guitar and Steve was poet. Rich wrote jokes for Johnny Carson. Steve moved to NYC and worked at Random House and Exit magazine. Rich stayed in New City and we would occasionally write to one another or I would stop by at his house where he stayed after his mother passed away. Life goes on and here, the latest attempt on my part at reconnection, is resulting in a failure. From my distant memory, Rich was a creative person with a special sense of humor. It is that dry sense of humor I will relish.
