Greg Scott Kuse, age 72, of Quincy, died on October 13, 2022, in the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, IA. He was born on November 2, 1949, in St. Mary's Hospital in Quincy, the son of Maurice and Shirley (Schmidt) Kuse. He was a 1967 graduate of Christian Brothers High School. Greg completed tool and dye certification at Gardner-Denver and also had attended Quincy Technical School and John Wood Community College. He married Joyce Wellman on May 8, 1971. She survives. After completing his career in manufacturing, Greg retired from the Department of Agriculture for the State of Illinois.
Greg served in the United States Army in the Vietnam War. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church. Greg was an avid golfer. He greatly loved spending his time with family and especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by:
TWO CHILDREN: Angel Kuse (Warren Dietrich) and April Sibbing (Richard)
SEVEN GRANDCHILDREN: Abigail Kline, William and Michael Venvertloh; Gus, Wesley, Sophia, and Maggie Sibbing.
ONE BROTHER: Monsignor Michael Kuse
Greg was preceded in death by his parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday evening, October 20, 2022, at 7:00 PM at Blessed Sacrament Church. Visitation will be on Thursday at Blessed Sacrament Church from 4:00 PM until the time of the mass at 7:00 PM. Private family burial will take place on Friday at Calvary Cemetery with military rites. Memorials may be made to Quincy Notre Dame or to Blessed Sacrament School. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
