NORTH LEWISBURG – Richard Nelson Latham, 62 of North Lewisburg, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2025 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
Richard was born on Sept. 22, 1963 in Urbana, Ohio, to the late Richard and Shirley (Curl) Latham.
Richard would go on to be a successful, self-employed businessman, founding and running his own fencing company, even doing work for companies such as Facebook.
A true tinkerer at heart, in his free time, Richard loved to work with his hands and found great joy in starting a new project on anything he could get his hands on, whether it be his motorcycle or a new truck. More than anything, however, Richard's greatest prides and joy, and his ultimate project satisfactions, came from being a loving father, husband, and papaw and helping and watching his family members grow.
Both a hardworking and hard-headed man, Richard was truly salt of the earth, and to know him was to know a true friend. He will be dearly missed by all those who loved him.
Richard is survived by his loving wife and sweetheart of almost 40 years, Jamie Faye (Farquer) Latham; son, Ryan Anthony Latham and his fiancé, Judie Dillon; granddaughter, Nora Jean Latham; sisters, Margaret Nolte and Patricia (Randy) Piper; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Richard "Casey" Latham; and a sister, Vicky Casto.
Graveside services will be held at a later date at the family's convenience.
Arrangements have been entrusted to FRESHWATER-MCDONALD-VERNON Funeral Home, North Lewisburg, Ohio.
