Richard J. Ledet

Richard J. Ledet was born April 12,1945 in Beaumont, Texas. He passed away into eternal life at the age of 79 years, 5 months, on September 10, 2024.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents John and Elizabeth Ledet, and daughter Andrea Ledet McDaniels. He attended Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church and school, in Beaumont, TX., Hebert High school in Beaumont, then Tennessee State College on a Football Scholarship. He began working at the US Post Office in Beaumont then transferred to the US Post Office in Houston where he had 45 years of service.
Richard loved Football and played in High school and College. He participated in Track and Field, as well. He developed a passion for Tennis after college, especially playing with both of his girls. Richard and his wife walked the Mall most days for exercise. He was a connoisseur of food and loved to cook and eat. Richard had a passion for traveling, also. He was blessed to travel the world and experienced 4 different Continents, and over 20 different Caribbean Islands mostly Cruising.
Richard loved God and he was devoted to reading his Bible on a daily basis. He loved life, his wife, family and people. He had a specific time every week to speak to some of his family members. Richard never met a stranger, and had fun talking to everyone. When he would meet strangers in need, he never hesitated to bless them with a monetary gift. He enjoyed relaxing in his Remote Control Lazy Boy and watching the news and favorite shows with his Sweetie, Mary.
Richard married Mary Graham Ledet on October 23, 1999. They were together in marriage for almost 25 years, and together another 7 years before they decided to tie the knot.
Richard leaves cherished memories to his Wife Mary Graham-Ledet, whom he affectionately called "Sweetie": Daughters Erica Ledet Wyche of Houston, and Tonja (husband Anthony) Holmes of Lake Jackson, Son Tommy Sutton of Houston; Sister Carol Ledet Jackson of LA California; Granddaughter Brittney Holmes Capello(husband Guido), Grandsons Dominick Wyche, and Thomas Holmes; Nephew Damon Azali-Rojas (wife Cynthia). Great Nephews Maceo and Fasola Azali-Rojas; along with a host of cousins, in-laws, relatives and friends.
Richard, we love you dearly and you will be missed by many, especially by your wife and family. Richard, we know you are rejoicing with your Heavenly family. Until we meet again...
