Richard Norman Lightle

Richard Norman Lightle, 93, of Waverly, Ohio passed away Sunday, December 21, 2025 at his home. He was born September 8, 1932 in Pike County, Ohio to the late James and Mary Elizabeth Wright Lightle. On August 24, 1957 he was united in marriage to Dorothy "Dottie" Grooms Lightle who preceded him in death on Ocotber 6, 2023. Surviving are three sons,

Ed (Angie) Lightle, Jeff (Joanie) Lightle and Greg Lightle all of Waverly; grandchildren, Carrie Ricer, Mandy (Curt) Scott, Chris (Mariah) Moore, Calli (Daniel) Willis, Andrew Lightle, Austin Lightle, Brendan (Brittany) Walker, Madison (Dalton) Skaggs, Coleton Lightle (Alara Bray), Kailey Horn (Riley Beekman), Logan Lightle, Scott (Lea) Lightle, Grace Lightle (Brady Lykins), Nic Lightle (Taylor Grooms), and Jenna Lightle; and 12 great-grandchildren with 3 on the way; a sister, Karen (Lonnie) Hopson; sister-in-law, Judy Massie; and brothers-in-law, Joe Grooms and Jimmy (Debbie) Grooms; and many nephews and nieces. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a son, John Darren Lightle; two brothers, Harold and Dave Lightle; and a sister, Eileen Bond.

Richard proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He retired from the VA, was a lifelong farmer and was a member of Bonds Chapel CCCU.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 26, 2025 at Bonds Chapel Church. Burial will follow in Gardner Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
