Richard Lima Obituary
Rick was born in Westerly and was the son of the late Brenda and Richard A. Lima, Sr.
Rick earned his associate degree at New England Institute of Technology in Electronic Engineering. He worked as an Electrical Engineer for Stanley Black & Decker for 28 years until his retirement.
He was a classic car enthusiast, a loyal Red Sox and Patriots fan, and an outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He was a member of The Westerly Yacht Club and enjoyed going out on his boat with his family. Rick was a former vice president and coach at the Westerly Youth Soccer Association and volunteered for the Rhode Island Special Olympics. Above all, his greatest achievement was being a loving husband to his wife, father to his daughters, and Popi to his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife Darleen, he leaves behind his three daughters, Kathleen McGuire and husband Patrick, Jacquelyn Garceau and husband Jaryd, and Victoria Muddiman and husband Samuel; his grandchildren, Ivy, Belle, Milo and Gisele; as well as his mother-in-law Madeleine Williams; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held from 1pm - 3pm on Sunday, February 15th at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Monday, February 16th at St. Pius X Church, 44 Elm St., Westerly. There is no procession from the funeral home to the church.
