Richard Francis Luzenski was welcomed into this world by Dick and Irene Luzenski on February 12th, 1947.
The oldest of three children, Richard grew up serving as a loving role model for sisters Linda and Donna in a bungalow in Eastpointe.
His youth was spent serving mass as an altar boy at St. Veronica, playing baseball in the summer, and enjoying many exciting adventures as an Eagle Scout.
He attended High School at Notre Dame, where he met the love of his life, Carol, at a dance that included students from neighboring high school Regina. A life-long bond was forged, through early days of cruising Woodward and sharing hamburgers at Ted's Drive in, to a beautiful wedding ceremony on October 1st, 1971.
Rick also spent six years serving his country in the Army Reserves, before being discharged in 1976, having earned the rank of Staff Sergeant.
First son Peter arrived in 1973, followed by daughter Nancy in 1976, son Andrew in 1978, son Richard in 1984, and baby girl Mary in 1986.
Rick's amazing ingenuity, brilliant intellect and innovative thinking made him a valuable asset to Ford, and later Chrysler until retirement in 2007. Despite making a successful career at two of the big three, Rick's most cherished time was spent at home with his family, always available to help with math homework, or to pitch the ball to kids who just wanted to bat.
He loved all of his children deeply, always reserved judgement, and whole-heartedly encouraged them to pursue all of their many passions. As a father, he always ensured a vehicle for them to drive, and paid for all five of his children's college tuitions.
His retirement years were spent as a loving grandfather to his 11 grandchildren, who held him in the highest regard, as he happily played games, eagerly invited them to movie night, and always made his knee available for little ones to sit on.
Rick also enjoyed bowling with his sons Peter and Andrew, spending time with high school friends during card club, and countless excursions with his wonderful wife, Carol.
Richard joined the company of angels on the evening of October 31st, 2025, surrounded by his five children.
As a loving husband, father and grandfather, Richard led a life of honesty, integrity, and unwavering generosity. His infectious chuckle and joyous presence will be missed by all who were so lucky to know him.
We celebrate his earthly life as Carol welcomes him with open arms in Heaven.
Beloved husband of Carol for 52 years. Loving father of Peter Luzenski (Kelly), Nancy Cooper (Fred), Andrew Luzenski (Elizabeth), Richard Luzenski, and Mary Dzwonkowski (Joe).
