Margaret Doran Julian

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

Margaret enjoyed crafting, gardening, and volunteering. Most of all, she enjoyed time with her family and friends. She enjoyed going on trips, seeing and learning about new things and bringing those experiences back in the form of pictures. Throughout the United States and to other countries. She took thousands of pictures of the places she had been, the people she shared her life with and what she had seen and done.

Margaret Doran was born on February 28, 1940, in Detroit, Michigan, to Alex James and Delphine Doran. She was the fourth of seven children. She graduated from Holy Redeemer High School in 1958. She was married to John Julian June 4, 1960. They raised two sons and spent more than 40 loving years together until John's death in 2002.

Margaret graduated valedictorian of her class from Oakland University with a paralegal degree in 1983. Her ability to accomplish this while raising and caring for her family shows how determined she could be.

She was mother to John and Robert. She was a proud grandmother to John, Sarah, Spencer, and Whitney. She was sister of the late Alex, Charles, and Michael Doran, and the late Mary Ellen Doran, and surviving sister Kelly Mellish. She was aunt to many nephews and nieces and had friends too numerous to count. She was outgoing and enjoyed people and life.

Family will receive friends at A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home, 2600 Crooks Road, Troy Michigan (between Maple and Big Beaver) Friday, November 7, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Rosary at 7 p.m.
