It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Major Richard Lyles, a dedicated leader and honorable public servant who faithfully served our community from June 10, 1974, to December 29, 1991.
Throughout his distinguished career, Major Lyles supervised the VICE Unit, rose through the ranks to Lieutenant, and ultimately served as Assistant Chief, leaving an enduring impact on those he led and protected. His dedication, leadership, and unwavering commitment to service will never be forgotten.
