Richard P. Martel

COHOES Richard P. Martel, 86, of formerly of Waterside Way passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at Wesley Health Care Center in Saratoga Springs. Born in Cohoes he was the son of the late Emile and Auxilia Gaudette Martel. He had resided in Crescent for a number of years.
Richard was employed for 30 years at Davis Acoustical in Waterford and retired in 2003. He was a veteran of the US Army.
He especially enjoyed fishing and hunting in his spare time.
Richard was predeceased by his loving wife Shirley Ballard Martel who died on February 26th of this year. He is the devoted father of Harold Martel (Maryann) of Waterford, Rhonda Gironda (John) of Clifton Park and the late Robert Kinns Jr. He is the proud grandfather of Krystal, Harry Jr., Madison, John, Joseph and Robie and great grandfather of Quinn, Rory, Devin and Max.
Funeral services will be Monday June 9, 2025 at 11:30 am from the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte. 32), Waterford and at noon at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Waterford. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 pm.
