Richard Martin

Richard John Martin was born on 4th August 1949 in Cape Town, South Africa to Joan Alida and William John Martin. He grew up in Sea Point and attended the University of Cape Town, where he received his Bachelor of Commerce.
Richard worked as an accountant for Trident Steel where he worked his way up to Financial Director and eventually CEO. He was known for his strong ethics, diligence, integrity and absolute dedication to the job.
He married Lori-Gene Martin on 27 September 1991, and together they shared 34 years of marriage. They shared in the joy of their blended families with Richard's daughters, Julia and Alice, from his previous marriage and Andrea from Lori's previous marriage. Together they had Chloe, the apple of his eye.
Richard will be lovingly remembered by his siblings, Russell and Posey, his grandchildren, Luka, Mika, Eliza, Addie, Benjamin, Blake and Kelsey. He will also live eternally in hearts of his friends, all of whom will attest to Richard being the very best of men.
A memorial will be held on 9 November 2025 at 9:30 at McDonald's and Sons Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to Fur Kids Pet Rescue in memory of Richard's love for his animals.
