Richard McGee Jr., a cherished member of his community and a devoted family man, passed away on August 5, 2025, in Greer, South Carolina. Born on April 14, 1966, Richard lived a life filled with warmth and kindness, leaving an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know him.
For more than 20 years, Richard proudly served as a truck driver, where he earned the name "Hollywood", navigating the roads with the same spirit of generosity and friendliness that defined his character. He was always ready with a smile and a kind word, making everyone he encountered feel valued and welcomed. His passion for his work was matched only by his dedication to his family and friends, with whom he shared countless memorable moments. Richard had a deep love for socializing and often spent his leisure time cooking out with friends and family.
Richard is survived by his sisters, Mary Allene Putnam and Debbie Aragon, who will forever treasure the memories they shared. His long-time friend, Brooks Barbary, also remains to honor Richard’s legacy of friendship and kindness.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Allen McGee, and his mother, Mary Frances Gresham, both of whom he loved deeply. Their memories will continue to inspire those who knew Richard, reminding all of us of the importance of family, generosity, and the simple joys of life.
