Richard Paul McGrath, born May 3, 1947, passed away on November 22, 2025, after a full and meaningful life. He grew up in Auburndale, Massachusetts. He was the son of the late Phillip and Jessica (McNeil) McGrath and was predeceased by his daughter, Jessica Rose, as well as his siblings Patricia Harrington; Robert, John, and Jerome McGrath; and Margaret Mahan.

He is survived by his son, Brian McGrath, and Brian's wife, Hilary Treat, along with their son, Graham Treat McGrath; his daughter, Kate McGrath, and her partner, Daniel Finch; his former spouse, Carla McGrath, and her siblings and their spouses; and his many loving nieces and nephews.

Richard will be remembered for his big heart and his deep understanding of all people. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.

Funeral services will be entrusted to the care of Burke & Blackington Funeral Home, 1479 Washington St., West Newton, MA 02465. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Friday, November 28, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Corpus Christi–St. Bernard Parish, 1523 Washington St., Newton, MA 02465.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Richard's memory may be made to the Red Sox Foundation (https://www.redsoxfoundation.org/) or to a charity of one's choice.
