Richard "Dick" A Mickles, age 84, of Seaford, DE, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was born in Athens, TN, on December 17, 1940, the son of the late Alford and Essie Mickles.

Richard graduated from Virginia Tech with a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering. Upon graduating from Virginia Tech, Richard served in the U.S. Army as a Lieutenant from 1964 to 1966, he then went on to get his master's degree in business administration from Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia. Richard went on to work for DuPont in Wilmington, DE, and he retired as a Senior Financial Analyst in the Carpet Fibers Division in 1996.

Richard was part of many organizations over the years, including the Jaycees, the Rotary Club, he was a Mason with Franklin Lodge No. 12 Masonic Lodge in Georgetown, DE, Hope Chapter No. 7 Royal Arch Masons in Georgetown, DE, Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons Joppa No. 3 in Georgetown, DE, The Commandery – Saint Andrew's 2 in Dover, DE, and he was member of The Order of the Eastern Star Sussex No. 7 in Seaford, DE.

Richard is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marlene "Marty" Mickles, two daughters, Kathleen Logullo (Chris) and Kristi McGeehan (Tim), four grandchildren, Molly Mickles, Harper Logullo, Aidan McGeehan, and Erin McGeehan. He is also survived by his brother, Charles "Charlie" Mickles, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Committal Services will take place on Monday, August 11, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. David's Episcopal Church, 2320 Grubb Rd, Wilmington, DE.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Monday, August 18, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the Manor House, 1001 Middleford Rd, Seaford, DE.

The family requests that people attended either service wear blue in honor of "Dick" Mickles.
