Olympia, Washington - Richard "Rick" Minshull passed away July 25, 2023, in Olympia, Washington, his home for 32 years. He was born March 1, 1958, to Richard and Lois Minshull in Alameda, California.
Rick served in the U.S. Navy, and married Kathlyn Karkau on August 18, 1984, in Honolulu, Hawaii; she passed away October 8, 1997. Later he worked with his father and uncle at Minshull Bros. Construction, then as a waste and water treatment plant operator for Thurston County. He enjoyed working on and repairing cars and machinery, gardening, shooting, gunsmithing, riding motorcycles, and spending time with friends, family, and his dog, Kona.
He is survived by his son, Matthew Minshull, wife, Jamie Minshull, and their sons, Rylan and Nathaniel of Auburn, Washington. He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Kathy; and daughter, Jennie.
A Celebration of Life for Rick will be held Saturday, September 9, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at South Sound Manor, 455 North St. SE, Tumwater, WA 98501.
