Richard Mitchell
Passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at age 85.
Richard was born on July 28, 1939 in Schenectady, NY. He is pre-deceased by his parents, Wayne and Dorothy, wife, Joyce Marie, and youngest daughter, Melissa Renee. He is survived by his son David (Tami); daughters Kim (Robert) DiLuglio and Amy Mitchell (John) Freeman. He had eight grandchildren: Cory (Brittany) Mitchell, Cameron (Katie) Mitchell, Michael (Stephanie) DiLuglio, Andrea (Benjamin) Huffcut, Jeffery (Melissa) DiLuglio, Jacqueline (Brittany) Omelanchuk, Morgan and Connor Freeman, as well as eight great-grandchildren. Richard is also survived by a younger sister Dianne (Francis) McKendree.
He was a product planner for Eastman Kodak Company. After retirement, he drove school bus for Churchville Chili School District. He loved his Pomeranian dogs dearly. He enjoyed music in many ways: singing in many choirs and small groups, holding season tickets to RPO and RTOS, and was committed to exposing his children and grandchildren to those experiences as well. He had many hobbies over his life, pit crew at the stock car races, a general passion for cars, trains, coaching youth sports, just to name a few. He loved to socialize, he was a great listener and had a warm smile.
