Died: October 31, 2022 in Byron
Richard Emil Mocker, 84, of Forreston, died Monday October 31, 2022, at Neighbors Nursing Center, Byron. Richard was born December 16, 1937, in Germany, the son of Richard and Inga Mocker. Richard married Beverly Andrews June 1, 1962, in Shullsburg, Wisconsin. Richard farmed for many years, it wasn't a just a job to him, he loved doing it. He was the 1999 Ogle County Conservation Farmer of the Year. Richard enjoyed eating and playing euchre. Richard was known for always laughing or having a good time enjoying himself and the company surrounding him. Surviving is his wife, Beverly of Forreston; son, Roland of Loves Park; daughters, Kalah Barry of Forreston, Kari Mocker of Forreston, and Amy (Erik) Cavazos of Sycamore; two sisters, Inga and Gabby of Germany; four grandchildren, Erik Jr. and Dietrich Cavazos of Sycamore, Tyler Mocker, and Bridget Barry. He was preceded in death by his brother and sister. Visitation will be 1:00 pm -4:00 pm Friday November 4, 2022, at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home, Freeport. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Richard's memory.

We are all very sorry to hear about the passing of Richard. Our deepest sympathies and condolences to all. If Covid would not have happened, we all were considering visiting him and you again like back in 2015. I am reminiscing about the time we spent at his home, talking about his passion of farming, touring us around his home. I and we all have a very fond memory of this visit and him. It is a shame we could not spend much more time together and see each other again.
May You Rest In Peace. Thoughts and prayers to you all.
