Richard Modeste

Richard Lyndon Modeste, a loving son and brother, departed from this life on Tuesday March 03, 2026, surrounded by family and love. Richard was born December 16, 1968, in the warm Caribbean island of Trinidad and Tobago. A Place that shaped him, colored his spirit and stayed in his heart no matter how far he traveled. At the age of 12, one of the last siblings to migrate to the United States, settled in Springfield Massachusetts in 1981. It was a big move for a young boy – a new country, a new city, a new life, but Richard brought with him everything that mattered. His faith, love for family, and a spirit that couldn't be contained.

Those who knew him know that family was everything to him and that his mother held a special place in his heart. Richard enjoyed watching and playing sports, with the trophies and medals to prove it. He loved playing video games and drawing, a gifted artist. Most of all he loved watching the Caribbean parades. You could always count on seeing him in the park.

Richard is the oldest of five siblings, predeceased by his sister Lisa Modeste. He leaves behind his Mother Joycelyn Modeste, Father Damascus Modeste, Sisters Dianne Modeste, Nikisha Modeste, and Brother Marlon Modeste. Six nieces and nephews, three grandnephews and grandniece. Aunts, uncles and a host of cousins and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who know him.
