Richard "Dick" G. Monnette, 76, of Marinette passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham, AL. He was born on January 20, 1949, to the late Alphonse and Glorianna (Noack) Monnette in Oconto, WI. He graduated from Peshtigo High School in 1967 and went on to serve his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. On October 7, 1978, Dick married Audrey Veriha at the First United Methodist Church in Marinette; she preceded him in death on February 16, 2024. Dick worked at Samuel Pressure Vessel Group over 15 years, retiring in 2012. He loved spending time with family. He enjoyed playing cards, golf, going to the family cabin and "The Monet Chalet". He also enjoyed watching the Packers, Brewers, and NASCAR. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Marinette and the Menominee VFW.
Dick is survived by his son, Derek (Liz) of Peshtigo, their children, Alyson and Rylee; and son, Andrew (Amber) of Porterfield, their children: Kyle, Cody, Jazmin, and Serenity; brothers: Wayne, Dale (Angie), Terry (Diana), Randy (Rhea), Mark (Colene), Lamont, and Paul (Courtney); and sisters: Jane Hinds, Donna Behnke, Judy Seelbach, Beverly Monnette, and Maggie (Jack) Biddy. In addition to his parents, and wife, Audrey, he was preceded in death by brothers: Bob, Clyde, Dean, and Al Jr.; and sister, Barbara.
Visitation will be held at First United Methodist Church in Marinette on Sunday, March 9th from 1:30pm-3pm. Funeral Services will be held at 3pm with Rev. Nate Reed officiating. An additional Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 28th starting at 4:30pm at Little River Country Club. Thielen Funeral Home is assisting the family.
