Mr. Richard Bradford Moseley, 72, was a beloved native and lifelong resident of Aiken, South Carolina. He peacefully departed this world in the morning hours on May 29th, surrounded by the warmth and love of his devoted family. Richard's journey began at Aiken High School, from which he graduated in 1972, and soon after, he joined the family business, Moseley Builders.
With a passion for construction and a keen eye for detail, Richard built an impressive career as a contractor and developer. His dedication and expertise led to the construction of many stunning residences in Aiken, showcasing his commitment to quality craftsmanship. His vision and entrepreneurial spirit allowed his business to thrive, eventually expanding to encompass both residential and commercial buildings in the Bluffton, Hilton Head, and surrounding coastal areas of South Carolina. Richard's legacy will be remembered through the structures he created and his impact on his community and loved ones.
Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and vacations with his family. He was known for his deep love for his family, especially his grandchildren, often joking, "If I could have had them first, I would have!" His sense of humor could either make you laugh or frustrate you, but it always left a smile on your face. Richard also had a big heart for the misfortunate and was always willing to help those in need. It is also common to hear people say they would not be where they are without the help or guidance of Richard Moseley and the impact he had on their lives.
He was born May 9, 1953, and was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Frances Moseley, and his brothers, Larry and Mickey Moseley. He also greatly mourned the loss and untimely death of his son, Richard (Rick) Bradford Moseley Jr. He is survived by his two daughters, Christina M. Shealy of Graniteville, Jamie N. Moseley of Aiken, his grandchildren Christian Zorn, Victoria Zorn, Hunter Shealy, Gracelyn Gilbert, and Krislynn Shealy. He also leaves behind great-grandchildren Brixton and Paxton Woodward, Camryn Zorn, and Adalynn Gore. Other surviving family members include his two sisters, Dianne Hicks (Glynn), Sharon Lawson (Russell), many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly, and his former spouse, Vicky Wood who helped take care of him in his final days. Special thanks to Thomas K. Cook, a longtime family friend who helped care for him during this journey.
