Richard Orval Nacker

Richard Orval Nacker, age 83, passed away on January 28, 2026. Born on July 19, 1942, he was the beloved son of Orval and Jeanette Nacker and older brother of Dianne Karsh. He was preceded in death by his beloved first wife of 38 years, Sharon Nacker, and his firstborn son, Rodney Nacker. Richard is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Elaine Nacker; his sons, Gary Nacker (Dawn) and Thomas Nacker (Kim); and his daughter-in-law, Sue Nacker. He was a proud and adoring grandfather to five granddaughters: Aryana (Jason) Lux, Madison Nacker, Emma (Michael) Whitney, Jordan Nacker, and Abigail Nacker. He was also blessed with three great-grandsons, Liam, Jaxon, and Ronan.

Richard built a long and dedicated career as a draftsman at General Motors, where his skill and steady work ethic were deeply valued. Outside of his profession, he was a devoted family man whose greatest joy came from time spent with those he loved. He had a passion for antiquing and took special pride in his unique collection of antique irons. Whether celebrating birthdays, holidays, or simple Sunday gatherings, Richard treasured every opportunity to be surrounded by family.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 1, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Wujek Calcaterra & Sons Funeral Home, 36900 Schoenherr Road (at Metro Parkway/16 Mile Road).

The funeral service will take place on Monday, February 2, at King of Kings Lutheran Church, 47500 Schoenherr Road, Shelby Township. Richard will lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m., followed by a luncheon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.

Richard will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family and the many stories that will live on in all who knew him.
