Richard Parker Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 18, 2025.
Richard Allen "Rick" Parker, 76, passed away on November 10, 2025, in Crystal River, Florida. Born on December 17, 1948, in Chicago, Illinois, Rick lived a life marked by dedication-to his country, his craft, and those around him.

A proud U.S. Navy veteran, Rick served his nation with honor during the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1969. As a Shipfitter Metalsmith aboard a patrol boat, he demonstrated courage and skill in challenging conditions. His service remained a defining part of his identity throughout his life.

Following his military service, Rick built a successful career as a self-employed contractor specializing in building and remodeling both commercial and residential properties. Known for his craftsmanship and tireless work ethic, he took great pride in working with his hands-transforming spaces and creating lasting structures that reflected his attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Rick's passions extended beyond the job site. He had a deep love for racing cars and motorcycle riding-interests that brought him joy and camaraderie over the years. Whether on the open road or at the track, he found freedom and excitement in every ride.

He was a man of faith who worshipped at Gulf to Lake Church in Crystal River. His patriotism was matched by his compassion-a combination that shaped how he lived and how he treated others.

Rick is survived by his beloved wife Judy, sister Kathleen Malczewski (Frank), sons Shannon (Pam), Richard Jr. (Michelle), Mark (Ana), Scott. Daughters Beverly Berget, Kelli Khruso (Syed). Grandchildren; Austin (Courtney), Bo, Blake, Brock, Aiden, Danica, Samantha (Ethan), Abby (Matt), Makenzie, Jessica (Clayton), Katie (Kyle), David, and great-granddaughters Casey, Rosie, Lorelei, Margo and Kensley. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marion Behning (nee Wiszowaty), father LeRoy Behning and sister Carol Boshaw (Bob).

May Richard Allen "Rick" Parker's memory bring comfort to those who knew him and serve as a lasting tribute to a life well-lived through service, skill, and spirit.
