Richard "Rick" David Paschall, a devoted son, father, and brother, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2025, in Richmond, VA, at the age of 59. Born on June 3, 1966, in Mechanicsville, VA, Richard lived a life marked by profound love for his family and an unwavering dedication to service.
He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. His time in the military instilled in him values of discipline, respect, and camaraderie which he carried with him throughout his life. Following his service, Rick earned his Bachelor’s degree from Old Dominion and served in the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity throughout his time at university. He worked at the Norfolk Yacht and Country Club throughout his college years where he made friends that followed with him throughout his life.
Though Richard had a complex demeanor that sometimes masked his deep emotions, those closest to him knew the depth of his affection. He cared deeply about his family, often finding ways to express his love through shared experiences rather than words. He cherished every moment spent on the water, casting lines and sharing laughter while fishing with his son. Those quiet moments, filled with the sound of the waves and the melodies of James Taylor, were among his happiest.
Rick is survived by his son, Richmond, his daughter-in-law, Elizabeth and two cherished granddaughters. He also leaves behind his sister, Charlotte Edmonds, and his niece, Shannon, both of whom held a special place in his heart.
He joins his beloved parents, Barbara and Richard Paschall, who have preceded him in death. Richard’s spirit, characterized by his quiet strength and steadfast love, will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. As we remember Richard David Paschall, we hold onto the memories of a man whose love for family and life was immeasurable.
Rick will be laid to rest with full military honors at the Amelia Veterans Cemetery in Amelia, VA.
