Well, I thought of Richard today for some reason and thought Id look him up. Well I found this Obituary instead. Richard and I dated in 66 and 67 when we were in high school, him Kearny, me Madison. I was crazy about him, but his big family scared me. He invited me to the family Christmas that year and I just couldnt do it. Looks like he had a wonderful life. Happy Trails to my Ricky!!

The memorial service was a genuine reflection of heartfelt thoughts of those who have associated with Richard for many years. The many happy memories. The sadness of knowing he will not be an active part of our lives any longer. I have known Richard for nearly 30 years. We have shared many adventures together on the river and camping in new places. As we all know, Richard was a perfectionist with his remodeling. This created angst with the amount of time to finish a project...........but we all loved the quality when he was finished, soon forgetting the extra time taken to finish. Richard was my mentor for river knowledge. Richard always requested I make a list of things he could do upon his arrival for a visit. So much fun to listen to his tales of adventures he had taken part in. After the memorial, I now realize the quality and closeness of his family relationships. Ones I had only heard about and was unable to share. Richard was a friend, mentor and brother to me. He will always be remembered and missed for everything he added to my life. I will see you on the other side, Amigo.

What a wonderful memorial. Since it is so hard to imagine a world without Richard, Ive decided not to. Im going to think of him out there on another adventure and imagine that hell be in touch when hes out this way again. I know Ill see him in every person and place he loved.

Richard loved living life. He forever will be with me in heart and soul. If there ever was a role model for living life to the fullest, Richard was exemplary. He showed us all what is important in life, the love of family and the love of friendship. It is hard to imagine a day without you, Richard. Much love always...
