The lessons I learned from Rich as a Cub Scout are still with me today. Since I heard of his passing, I've been reflecting on his example, humor and love of adventure was infectious and started me on a path of loving the outdoors, loving the challenge of scouting and loving life. Rich came to my Eagle Scout board of review, he was there when I left on a mission, and he was there at my wedding. Rich and Dixie were like second parents to us boys. And their influence continues today now that we are all adults and raising our families. I will forever be grateful for this great man and his example to me.
