Richard Pfauth Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, Inc. on Apr. 23, 2025.
Richard Pfauth Jr. 93 of Lebanon, NJ, passed peacefully on Wednesday November 27, 2024 at his home in Odessa, FL with his daughter, Rosie, by his side. Born in Somerville, NJ on October 20, 1931, he was the son of Erika and Richard Pfauth Sr. Raised on his father's poultry farm in North Branch NJ, Richard attended Cooke College before joining the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. After his time in the service he started Richard Pfauth Jr. Excavating (later Richard Pfauth Jr. and Son) in 1954. Richard was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and sat on the board of directors for The NJ Land Improvement Contractors. Richard was married to the love of his life, Anita (Ulrich) Pfauth "The Boss", before her passing in 2010. Richard had a passion for the excavating business and heavy equipment. He was known for his honesty and hard work ethic, working into his 80's 6-7 days a week. He enjoyed concerts, fairs and going out to dinner with his wife, brothers and friends. You could always find him at auctions with one of his many boxers looking for a "hot deal". Richard lived a long and full life always surrounded by people he loved. He is predeceased by his wife Anita and brothers (best friends) Herman and Erwin. He is survived by his son, Joe and his wife Kim Pfauth of Lebanon, NJ, his daughter, Rosemarie Pfauth Gill of Odessa FL, his grandchildren, Little Joe and wife Krista Pfauth, Zachary Pfauth, Corinne (Gill) Winer and her husband Robert Winer, Nikki (Gill) Rogers and her husband Charlie Rogers, Cale Pfauth, Jordyn Gill and Brynna Gill, along with 4 great grandchildren Blakely Winer, Brooks Winer, Ellie Jo Pfauth and Emma Pfauth.
